OHIO School of Dance Choreography Competition

The School of Dance’s 1st annual Choreography Competition awards talented dancers for their original solo choreography to receive scholarships, feedback from dance professionals, mentorship from junior and senior dance majors, and earn the opportunity to perform the solo in one of our annual concerts!

In 2021, five recipients from the Inaugural Choreography Competition received $5,000 and $10,000 scholarship awards for their unique short choreographic solos that related to social justice and equity including, but not limited to race, gender, class, or allyship.

This year, we are seeking short choreographic solos that highlight your unique and interesting choreographic voice around themes of mental health and wellness, lockdown or isolation (due to the pandemic), social media inspired works, or social justice and equity including, but not limited to race, gender, class, or allyship.

The School of Dance is still holding virtual auditions for the Fall 2023 semester or in person auditions in January. Learn more about the Ohio University School of Dance at: http://ohio.edu/dance
